Grayling happen ....

On my recent trip to Yellowstone, one of the things on a lengthy bucket list was to fish for and catch an Arctic Grayling. My friend Dan and I made the hike into one of the parks glacial lakes to scratch that goal off the list. In spite of some of the windiest conditions I’ve ever attempted to cast a fly in, we did manage to catch some of these beautiful fish on leech patterns fished with a slow, deep retrieve. There were also some beautifully colored Yellowstone cutthroat added to the mix to make for a really rewarding day. This week’s pic is my good friend Dan casting for grayling on a mountain lake in this remarkable part of the world. More Yellowstone images to follow. Till next week …….. www.ramsayflies.com
