Listening to the Water ....

I’ve always enjoyed that first moment when I arrive to the edge of the water and the feeling that comes with standing close to it. After all these years, I’m still just a kid that enjoys playing in the water. I always a few minutes spent just watching, listening and disconnecting from the concerns of the busy life I live and connecting with the stream. It’s time I don’t want to hurry through in my rush to get away from that busy life to getting busy engaging in the act of fishing without giving myself just a few minutes of time to listen to the water and get in tune with it. I don’t rig up until I get to the water and give myself that time to connect and watch for a clue that helps to determine what my first pitch will be from a pack full of fly boxes and possibilities. Sometimes I’m rewarded with a clue or a sign that I may have missed if I hadn’t taken the time to just watch to the water, listen, and let it talk. It’s a great moment to give thanks for another day on the water and to get into the rhythm of the stream. Sometimes that can make all the difference in the world. Till next week …… #ItsAboutTheFish #PAWild www.ramsayflies.com
