Turquoise and Silver .....

I’ve always had a bit of a fondness for southwest Native American jewelry and have worn a turquoise and silver ring for many years. In my own way it gives me a sense of a connection to cultures that experience a deeper connection with the earth and the natural world. It’s a symbolic connection of what is special and close to my own heart and what I value. In Navajo culture turquoise symbolizes life itself. I think many of us have admired the bright colors, spots and markings of a wild trout and fly fishing literature has often compared them to the mixtures of hues and patterns found in a mosaic, jewelry or to a fine tapestry. Arctic Grayling are unique and beautiful fish in their own way and remind me of Navajo jewelry. Turquoise and silver …… Till next week …..
