Memorial Day weekend is always an exciting time of the fishing year. Prime bug time and a three day weekend always feels like opportunity with the hardest part being deciding where to fish. This Memorial Day weekend took an abrupt right hand turn with a forecast of rain all day, every day. There won't be a weekend in a tent, fishing those mountain streams that I love so much. Plan B says to work on my "to do list" which includes working out some new material offerings and building inventory of some things. The dubbing mixer has blended up some goodness and a few new turkey biot colors taking a swim in the dye pot. A new Wild Turkey biot in Rusty Spinner, and white turkey biots dyed for the big Cornuta Olives. I prefer goose biots for flies up to size #14, and make the switch to turkey for tying the bigger bugs. Not a bad Plan B at all. Look for these to show under "Signature Materials" once they dry and get bagged up. Till then ...
